MY
STORY
“Music is the universal language of mankind.”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
As you can see, my site is finally live! I can’t believe how amazing it feels to finally get my blog up and running. Music is a huge part of my life and I can’t wait to see what this journey will bring. TTTM will bring you music news, video and music samples across genres, concert and festival dates, debatable discussions and posts about music and its effects on our daily lives.
I launched Time To Talk Music as a UK based platform to discuss everything music. You will be able to find honest and diverse posts on a range of music related topics, album and concert reviews, as well as insight into my personal world of music. Since I love writing and am very fond of all kinds of literature, there will also be no shortage of attempted lyric interpretations. My blog will cover a wide range of genres BUT if you’re mainly interested in chart music, I’m afraid you’ve come to the wrong place. Even though I listen to all kinds of music, and I’m not much into labelling, I am particularly infatuated with rock and metal-more specifically, metalcore, so my blog is bound to reflect this. Overall, the focus is mainly on music that carries a message, and topics that move me personally. I want to discuss and spread music that can raise awareness on controversial topics, as well as music that has the potential to inspire change. If you’re a person with an open mind, and open ears, I’m sure you’ll find something of interest here.
Now that you know what to expect from my blog, I shall tell a little about myself, but firstly I would like to thank you for your interest in my page! I’m Alexandra, a soon to be 23 year old nature loving, music obsessed university student. I probably wouldn’t be here without my favourite artists, and currently call England my home. Apart from music, the most important things to me in life are love and personal development. I first started writing short stories and poems around the age of 12, mainly because it was my only outlet to express myself and my thoughts and feelings. Music works in a similar way for me-it allows me to channel emotions, that I would otherwise not be able to process. Further, it is important to me that artists speak out about sensitive or critical topics such as the environment and mental health, as this allows for conversation and different viewpoints on issues that otherwise go unnoticed. Regardless of whether the artists share our interpretations of their work or not, it is a powerful thing when you’re able to relate to someone that may be facing the same difficulties as you. Just like any other art form, music can lend a voice to the unheard, and help us unite, learn and grow. Moreover, I just love how you can hear raw emotion in voices and instruments. It’s not just music that I love, but of course also the people behind it. Since I’m a free spirit, I find the company of artists like a fresh breath of air. Listing every single reason why music is important to me deserves an entire post, so I shall leave it at that.
In sum music is a huge part of my life, and it has helped shape me into the person I am today. I’m sure many of us share the same or similar feelings, which is why I’m so excited to share this journey with you. Starting a blog was something I had planned on doing for years, and here I finally am!
I would love to hear from you, be it positive or negative feedback, comments, ideas, requests, or anything else. You can find Time To Talk Music on Facebook, follow me on Twitter @timetotalkmusic, or email me at timetotalkmusic@hotmail.com. You can also drop me a message here!
