Firstly, you should know that Thirty Seconds To Mars will always be my number one. These guys touched my heart with their music and inspiration, and I really haven't been the same since. Their music came into my life during the perfect time, as I was in need of guidance. This band reassured me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it, and more importantly have encouraged and enabled me to come to terms with change, thanks to their inspiration and having listened to them at the right time. Almost 10 years on, and I love them just the same!

1. Jared Leto

Actually, I could write Jared Leto down 10 times, but that would take the fun out of the list. Jared can sing (pretty darn good), master various musical instruments, act, produce, direct, write, create businesses, and shares beautiful photography, On top of that, Leto is known to be vegan, stays involved in socially conscious issues. In order to cover all the amazing things he does, I would have to dedicate an entire post to him (which I may very well do, so stay tuned). On occasions Jared also makes vegan pancakes and sets his kitchen on fire (yes this actually happened during one of their VyRT live streams, I saw it with my own eyes).

2. Tomo Miličević

Guitarist Tomo, among the Echelon better known as Jesus, deserves a special mention as he was actually a huge fan of the band before he joined! He even admitted to camping out in front of Jared and Shannon Leto's house before auditioning. Tomo also happens to be the only band member married, and is known to give the best hugs during meet and greets.

3. Shannon Leto

If you haven't heard Shannon master the drums, then that's your loss-he is beyond amazing and you can always expect 200% from him. He also used to have a side-project with electronic DJ Antoine Becks, and played the drums to his set. Even if you're not into electronic music, you would've had an amazing time seeing them play! Lucky me got to catch them a couple years back in Vienna, Austria. Shannon and Antoine performed during the gig after-party at one of Vienna's most well-known clubs, and me and my friends had a blast! If you want to know what I'm on about check out this video here.

4. Aesthetics

Heck, they look great. The combination of lovely eye candy, ear poetry and superb performances is more than anyone could wish for! I don't think anything else needs to be said in regards to this point.

5. Dedicated Fan-base

Thirty Seconds To Mars have one of the most loyal supporters. They truly love their fan-base, better known as the Echelon, and the music keeps devoted followers coming back for more. They also make sure their fans believe in themselves and overall pretty much offer a massive amount of wisdom and guidance.

6. Innovative

These guys are beyond innovative! Among other brilliant ideas, they actually started up an event called 'Camp Mars' last year, which takes place every summer. It's exactly what you think it is-a camp where the Echelon get together and undertake various activities with the band! Sounds like every fans dream come true, am I right?

7. Guinness World Record

As if all their achievements weren't enough, Thirty Seconds To Mars actually won a Guinness World Record for “Most Amount Of Shows Played During A single Album Cycle”. The group played 309 shows during that epic journey around the world.

8. Collaborations with the Echelon

As MTV reported before, during their so-called 'Summit', the band gave around 1000 of their fans the opportunity to sing on their album They actually shot a music video, in which the band rides bikes with a stunning amount of their fans. I recommend you to watch the video below, it's such a beautiful piece and you can tell that it meant something special to everyone.

9. Tattoos

I'm sure all tattoo lovers know what I'm talking about! Tomo, Shannon, and Jared all have beautiful tattoos, and a lot of them are Thirty Seconds To Mars related (that's dedication I say). Have a look at some examples below:

10. Environmentalists

Last, but not least, the whole band endorse a vegan lifestyle, and does a whole lot to help the environment. In order to raise awareness on climate change, the band put together the track 'A Beautiful Lie'. What's impressive about the shoot is that Thirty Seconds To Mars were the first band to film 200 Miles from the Arctic Circle, under extremely dangerous conditions, as stated by PR Newswire. You can watch the whole video below!
